This Dutch Braided Hair Bun can look very elegant and casual depending on how and where you’ll wear it. This look was inspired by the usual styles seen on social networking and blogging sites. It is also a versatile look since you can play with its braids based on how you would prefer it to be. Depending on your ‘personal style’.

This Hair bun is perfect for a casual mall strolling, lunch dates, concerts, or outing with friends. You can also wear it during evening events like a birthday party, engagement party, cocktail party, hang out at the bar or even in some formal occasions. Just make sure to put in the right outfit and accessories and you’re good to go.

Stay with me as I teach you the step-by-step process of making a Dutch Braided Bun.

Step 1 - Begin with untangling your hair. You can start off with a straight hair but hair with braided curls makes the look fuller.

Step 2 - Put aside the other half by tying it, because you will be working on the other half section of the hair first.

Step 3 – Beginning from above of the ear. Get a small section of the hair and start doing a dutch braid. A dutch braid is a very similar technique to the french braid. That with each strand rotation of braiding, you add a new section directly from the scalp. The main difference is that instead of placing each consecutive strands above the other, you wrap them underneath.

Step 4 - Continue the dutch braid across the entire backside of your head, towards the center parting. Just make sure you’ve included the entire section of hair. Braid a little more and tie it with a small elastic.

Step 5 – Repeat the same process on the other side. Make sure both sides are equal and leveled.

Step 6 – Hold both braids together and tie with a large elastic band. You can go back and remove the smaller elastics.

Step 7 – Hold the braid with one hand, and use the other to loosen the hair above the braid because we want to make our crown look ‘poofier’. Once you’re done, you can also stop from here if you want to wear it as a casual braided ponytail. But if you still want to continue, keep reading to know how to make the bun.

Step 8 – Get 2 inches section of the ponytail and tuck it around and under the original large elastic band

Step 9 – Adjust the look with some bobby pins. Spray some hairspray if you want.

There it is! Dutch Braided Hair Bun. That wasn’t so hard, was it? No need for a curling iron, heat or whatever that you think can destroy your hair. Everything is heat free and chemical free (If you choose not to put some hairspray, that is.) With this, you can also go for a Boho Chic look or for a Grecian goddess look.

So how do you gals think of this look? Anyone having a hard time dutch braiding? Well that’s alright,’cause practice makes perfect!
